Pre-wedding Engagement Shoot? We don't want that!!

As you may know here at ASC Photography Solutions Ltd we pride ourselves with a level of service which is unusual in the current market. Unlike most Wedding Photographers we promote our renowned All-inclusive packages to our couples, which includes amongst other things an Engagement Shoot. The Wedding Fair season is upon us an undoubtably we will have a percentage of couples who will initially horrifyingly say "Oh no, we don't want that!!". However the reason that they give for their reaction is that they don't like their photograph being taken and want to limit the experience to the wedding day. What they soon come to realise is thats exactly why they should have an Engagement Shoot.

Almost without fail one of the wedding couple will say that they hate their photo being taken and that they are in some ways dreading the experience. Also the bride, once she starts thinking about here wedding photography, will start to ask questions about how to walk and sit in her dress, how should she pose, "what do I do with my hands?". For all of these reason, and more, we strongly recommend a photographic session with your photographer before the big day.

From my point of view this sessions will help prepare the couple, and me, for the Wedding Day. Initially it is a good ice-breaker and a getting to know each other session. I will be at your wedding all-day, so if we get to know each other better the day will flow right from the start, with more relaxed smiles and poses. The sessions are always relaxed and light hearted, but very productive for the couple and me. Each couple I photograph naturally suit different poses. The session helps us explore these options allowing me to plan very carefully the photography for the day, and at the same time proving to the couple that they can take posed and natural photographs. Come the day both the Bride & Groom will know what kinds of things we will do, they will be relaxed about it, and the intimate alone sessions we will have will be quick and effortless allowing them to get on and enjoy their day while I capture the rest of day naturally unfolding. We have only one opportunity to photograph probably the biggest day of your life, taking an hour to prepare really is a no-brainer.

We will announce on Facebook the Wedding Fairs we are attending, come along, we would love to see you. Alternatively phone us at the studio to book an appointment to view our albums and discuss your plans.

Cambridgeshire Wedding Photography - Vintage Wedding at Tilbrook Church

Michelle & Christopher chose the All Saints church in Tilbrook for their intimate Vintage Wedding. Michelle had a very clear vision for her big day. Everything was planned very carefully from the stunning vintage style lace dress to the matching icing decoration on the cake.

These plans extended to the style of photography they wanted which made this wedding very exciting for me, and one that I couldn't wait to plan and execute. They had cut out of magazines very stylised shots that they loved, especially focusing on sepia and black&white effects. I must say it was refreshing to work with a couple that knew what they wanted, and based their choice for their photographer on ability, not purely on price. They especially liked an image by Tami-Foto that they found in a magazine, which inspired this shot of Michelle & Christopher in-front of a newly ploughed field. The shot was planned during our engagement shoot, and worked a dream on the day, creating this stunning image which is taking pride of place on a full double page spread in their Graph-studio Storybook album.

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is providing the clients with images that you know they will cherish forever. In particular with this wedding, and this image, Michelle & Christopher were bowled over with final effect, and just from their expressions when they saw it for the first time I knew this was another job well done.

Cambridgeshire Wedding Photography - The Haycock Hotel

The picturesque village of Wansford in Cambridgeshire set the scene for Holly & Ivans December winter wedding at The Haycock Hotel. Holly & Ivan are moving to America in the new year therefore this was also a bit of a fairwell gathering, with family and friends not only celebrating their marriage but enjoying an evening together before they disappear over the pond.

Unfortunately the weather was particularly bleak for their day, with the temperature staying below zero, and the constant threat of more snow to add to the already white covering. However this did not dampen everyones spirits, with all braving the outside for some quick shots before the light totally dissapeared and we had to retreat to the warmth inside. The Haycock Hotel is a georgeous 300 year old coaching inn, boasting a rich heritage, now being run as a luxurious hotel with every room oozing character. This is a regular venue for us, infact it was here in the gardens where we took or SWPP Gold Award winning photo of bridesmaids skipping through the beautiful pergola that runs through the centre of the walled garden.
Here are a few photos from the day. Congratulations Holly & Ivan, and all the best for your new life in America.

Claire & Colin's Storybook Artwork

Claire & Colin returned to the studio this week to review their Storybook artwork. They were both thrilled with their photos and were itching to see the artwork for their Storybook.

Every Storybook layout that we provide is uniquely created by us especially for our clients, ensuring its individuality and exclusivity. A fitting end to the stunning imagery that we have captured from their wedding, and fit for the stunning Storybook that they have chose from the founding company of Storybooks, Graphi-studio in Italy.

Because we create the artwork for the Storybooks we are able to continually change the artwork until our clients are happy with each and every page. However our clients often fall in love with the first draft of the artwork, with only minor changes required. Needless to say Claire and Colin loved the first draft, with only a subtle alteration to one page. This is one of the best parts of being a wedding photographer, Claire and Colin left beaming and excited about their Storybook which will be with them in 4-6 weeks once the master craftsman in Italy have worked their magic.
